💭 “Who am I if I’m not competing?”
That’s a question I asked myself more than once.
Because for years, my entire identity was wrapped up in being the competitor.
The meal prep, the training, the posing practice, the show day glam — it was ALL-consuming. And honestly? I loved it. Competing gave me discipline, confidence, and a sense of achievement I’d never experienced before.
But here’s the truth that hit me hard:
When the stage lights went off… I didn’t always know who I was without it.
And I know I’m not alone in this.
So many of us tie our self-worth to how we look, how we place, or how strict we can be with prep. But your identity is not your stage package.
✨ Competing is PART of who you are, not ALL of who you are.
What helped me break through this?
Here’s what I want you to know:
You are more than a competitor. More than a trophy. More than a number on stage.
And the beautiful thing? When you start owning your identity outside of competing… it actually makes the sport even more fulfilling. Because you’re no longer depending on it to define you.
